LEICESTER Lion Cubs are back on the road on Tuesday as they head to Plymouth for more National Development League action (7pm).
The Cubs have two wins from three matches so far and will look to gain more ground in the race for the play-offs, with Berwick currently setting the pace at the top of the table.
Boss Dave Howard names an unchanged team for the trip to the Coliseum, with Kai Ward continuing as an injury replacement for Max Perry.
The Centurions call up Alfie Bowtell – who races for them in the Championship – as a guest for long-term injury victim Dan Gilkes at No.1, but they must also use an unattached three-point rider in the main body of the side.
This is due to the fact that heat-leader Henry Atkins left the club last month, reportedly after a falling-out with boss Garry May over selection policy in the senior side, and Plymouth’s facility to operate rider replacement has now expired.
Cubs captain Joe Thompson said: “We’ve shown we’re a very good team at home, and I’m sure the away form will come as well.
“We had a few unfortunate mishaps at Kent with Max breaking his collarbone, but I’m sure we’ll sort out the away form.
“It’s a very busy week for me because I’ve picked up a guest booking on Wednesday as well, and then we have Scunthorpe with the Lions on Friday and Saturday, but it’s what we love to do, and I’m really enjoying my racing at the minute.”
